Chapter 6 - THE WORKERS NO ONE BELIEVED.

The forged date destroyed Celeste’s story, but Daniel still controlled half the room.
He reminded the guests how much money his family donated to hospitals, police campaigns, and city courts.
One by one, hotel workers gathered at the doorway.
A dishwasher said Rosa had been forced into an elevator.
A housekeeper said security deleted her complaint.
A busboy admitted he stayed silent because Daniel threatened his mother’s health insurance.
For years, the guests had called these workers invisible.
Now their testimony formed a wall Daniel could not cross.
Vincent demanded the security archive.
The chief refused until one of Vincent’s five guards removed his badge.
Footage showed Daniel, Celeste, and two detectives surrounding Rosa while she refused to sign away Ava’s custody.
Then a judge entered the frame and authorized an “emergency transfer.”
Every face turned toward Judge Warren Hale, who was still seated beneath the chandelier.
He calmly finished his wine.
“You are misunderstanding a lawful order,” he said.

A waiter placed an envelope beside Vincent.
Inside was proof the judge had been paid.
