Chapter 6 - THE SILENCE ELEANOR PURCHASED.

Eleanor admitted making the payment after Vanessa threatened to move Naomi and five other retired workers beyond the reach of their families.
“I paid for silence and called it protection.”
Naomi answered, “You purchased time for us with money, then allowed the system to keep choosing new victims.”
Eleanor placed the amount, with interest, under restitution review. David tried to defend her desperation, but Carter refused to let affection become immunity.
Vanessa claimed the payment proved Eleanor willingly participated.
Carter replied, “Coerced silence can still harm people. It does not convert the coercer into a partner.”
A forensic audit traced the money into the mansion renovation—the marble foyer, the chandelier and the gold chair where Vanessa had watched Eleanor clean her shoe.
The humiliation had taken place on a floor financed by the woman being humiliated.
Then the hidden camera’s older files were restored.
