Elena admitted signing a temporary confidentiality agreement when she feared losing prenatal care and housing.
“I chose my baby over the investigation.”
A senior housekeeper named Rosa Delgado answered, “Fear explains the choice. It does not return the wages that disappeared while you stayed quiet.”
Elena placed the money under control of the employee council and refused the trust chair that had belonged to her mother.
Adrian tried to use her admission to discredit everything.
Vanessa stopped him.
“She accepted money under pressure. You built the pressure and purchased the silence. Those are not equal acts.”
The council froze the merger, restored maternity benefits and preserved all corridor footage.
Auditors found Adrian had used the same custody strategy against two other hotel employees whose families held worker shares. Both women lost jobs after refusing private settlements.
One of them, Denise Carter, had vanished from company records.
