Chapter 7 - THE WOMAN WHO KNEW HIS PATTERN.
Elena admitted Maria had warned her that Vale executives targeted women connected to employee shares.
When Adrian began courting her, Elena believed she could gather evidence from inside the relationship. She did not expect to fall in love or become pregnant.
Denise’s anger remained controlled.
“You knew what happened to me and still kept the warning to yourself.”
Elena accepted removal from the evidence team.
“I thought one complete case would protect everyone. I let perfect proof become an excuse for more harm.”
Denise opened the ledger. It listed service charges, maternity settlements and private guardianship plans across nine hotels.
Richard called it stolen property.
Rosa answered, “Workers copied records of money taken from them. The theft happened before the photocopier.”
Federal investigators detained Adrian’s attorney and suspended the clinic partnership.
Then Denise revealed that Vanessa’s mother, Caroline Vale, had approved the first guardianship scheme years earlier.
Vanessa had been told Caroline died in a boating accident.
