Eleanor arrived at the hotel surrounded by attorneys and called Maya’s claim an attempt to enter the Caldwell family through pregnancy.
Maya stood behind the housekeeping cart in her faded uniform while Eleanor wore diamonds worth more than Maya’s annual wages.
“You knew exactly what people would believe,” Maya said. “A rich man makes a promise. A poor woman becomes the scandal.”
Eleanor offered her a settlement in front of the staff.
Maya refused.
“I do not want hush money. I want the truth recorded.”
A court-approved prenatal test confirmed Ethan was the biological father.
Victoria immediately claimed Maya had planned the relationship to gain access to the hotel fortune.
Maya revealed that she had worked at the hotel long before meeting Ethan because her late father, Luis Torres, had been chief engineer during the company’s bankruptcy.
He and eighty hotel employees had surrendered wages to keep the property open.
In return, they were promised ownership shares.
The agreement was never honored.
