Maya’s mother, Elena Torres, admitted accepting the money after Eleanor threatened to blacklist Maya from every major hotel in Maryland.
“I thought education would get you out.”
Maya answered, “You tried to save me with money taken from people who could not escape.”
Elena surrendered the remaining funds and agreed to testify without demanding forgiveness.
Eleanor used the confession to call the Torres family corrupt.
Samuel turned on her.
“You create desperation, then point at the desperate person as proof they never deserved justice.”
The worker board restored the tuition amount from Caldwell assets, not employee funds.
Ethan placed his inheritance into restitution but did not ask Maya to resume their relationship.
“I will support the child,” he said. “I will not use responsibility as a way back into your life.”

Someone had attempted to change the baby’s legal records and list Victoria as intended guardian.
The application was signed before Ethan ended the engagement.
