THE BRACELET ACROSS THE HALL / Chapter 10 / 10

Chapter 10 - THE EIGHT BRACELETS.

Martha Reed had been a military spouse and nurse who challenged the first forged protection letter. Victor’s network declared her unstable, moved her through three facilities and told Jason she died in a highway accident.

The evidence drive showed she had survived for years under federal witness protection after helping Ruth build the original case.

Jason did not receive an immediate reunion. Investigators protected Martha’s location while confirming her safety and allowing contact on her terms.

Hale Memorial became a patient-worker benefit corporation. Stolen homes were returned where possible, coerced contracts voided and military families received independent legal counsel. Victor, Laura, Edwin and the participating relatives lost authority and faced prosecution.

Emily and Claire began rebuilding as sisters without pretending grief erased their silence or choices.

The bracelet and evidence drive entered a public hospital archive.

At the dedication, Marsh received one final encrypted message from Martha.
