Chapter 7 - THE LETTERS WEARING MILITARY NAMES.
Laura was found in the records basement feeding documents into a shredder.
Detectives stopped the machine and recovered damaged claims from military spouses in Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.
The women reported the same pattern: delayed ambulances, coerced signatures, false psychiatric labels and homes transferred while their partners were deployed.
Laura insisted she was protecting military families from scandal.
Jason’s reply was cold.
“You used deployment as isolation. You knew their spouses could not come home quickly.”
Marsh activated a wider protection order and notified legal commands in every affected state.
Investigators discovered forged letters carrying officers’ names. Those letters instructed hospitals to treat family complaints as emotional instability.
One signature belonged to Marsh.
“You copied military authority to frighten civilians,” she told Victor.
Then a recovered claim showed Claire had not been the first Hale daughter hidden under an alias.
A third sister, Anna Hale, had entered the network sixteen years earlier.
