Chapter 9 - THE OWNER WHO ENTERED THROUGH THE LAUNDRY.
Clara entered the ballroom wearing a simple gray coat and holding the original worker deed.
Emma ran to her, but Clara stopped first to look at the employees.
“I came back because this belongs to all of us.”
Victoria called her ungrateful.
“This family employed you.”
Clara answered, “Your family survived because ours worked while you borrowed against everything.”
The deed proved employees collectively owned forty-six percent of the hotel.
Clara’s trusteeship gave her temporary control after Victoria’s intimidation.
She removed Victoria, the hotel manager, and every executive involved in the false clinic system.
Charles surrendered his remaining shares.
Andrew agreed to testify.
At the hearing, Victoria accused Clara of destroying the family legacy.
Clara placed the bracelet beside the deed.
“You erased workers, stole pensions, and hid mothers underground. That was never a legacy. It was an invoice.”
The judge denied bail.
For once, Victoria’s surname opened no private door.
Then Clara asked the monitor technician to play one final archive.
The footage showed Charles visiting Room 9 years earlier.
He was carrying a newborn baby.
