Michael’s posthumous signature came from a biometric authorization recorded before the crash.
He had created a delayed transfer that would activate if Emma and Lily were ever reunited. The shares would not pass to Amara, Ruth or either child alone. They would move to a patient-worker council.
Caroline called the arrangement theft from the Pierce family.
Olivia replied, “The company was built from Amara’s research and families pressured by medical debt. Your surname is not the only investment.”
Amara placed her personal royalties under restitution review. Ruth testified about the envelopes she carried and the evidence she failed to protect. Neither asked Emma to choose one mother over another.
The council began locating families separated through the placement program.
Then Lily’s donor file revealed her adoptive father had opposed Caroline and tried to return her records.
He died in a boating accident one week later.
