Chapter 3 - The Children They Called Unstable

The files revealed a private network using family courts to remove children from federal agents, whistleblowers and working-class parents involved in corruption cases.
Each child was placed with a wealthy guardian connected to the investigation being threatened.
The language never mentioned punishment.
It used words like stability, protection and elite opportunity.
Sarah stared at Judge Black.
“You stole children from parents who could expose your friends, then called the theft child welfare.”
Black answered with contempt.
“Some parents are too poor, too emotional or too occupied with work to provide proper homes.”
Daniel stepped forward.
“Those parents work because your class keeps wages low and housing expensive. Then you use the hardship you created as evidence against them.”
Victoria laughed.
“Spare me the servant-class speeches. People who cannot maintain a household should not raise valuable children.”
Sarah’s voice became deadly calm.
“Lily is not valuable because of a trust. She is valuable because she is a human being. That difference is why you should never be near her again.”
A forensic team recovered deleted footage from the mansion system.
It showed Victoria coaching Lily to say Sarah frightened her.
When Lily refused, Victoria threatened to send her to a private school where “no one would hear her cry.”
Black’s court clerk then arrived carrying sealed warrants.
She admitted the judge had ordered her to pre-sign custody forms for children connected to federal cases.
One form listed Sarah as deceased.
The date of death was tomorrow.
