Ryan argued that jurors would trust video over convicted women.
Maya replied, “That was always your business model—make poverty look guilty in high definition.”
A technician recovered the original file from an off-site backup. It showed Rhea taking the tray, dumping the meal and placing her hand on Maya while Maya remained seated.
The false disciplinary charge collapsed.
Maya was ordered released, but she refused to leave before the other expired sentences were reviewed.
Evelyn mocked her.
“You finally have freedom and still want to perform solidarity.”
Maya answered, “Freedom that requires walking past women illegally held behind me is another privilege.”
Federal agents arrested Evelyn and Ryan. The governor’s contract was suspended, and Olivia’s company lost access to prison labor.
Then Denise received Camille’s original intake file.
Camille had never been sentenced to this facility.
Her transfer order came from a private family court handling juvenile cases.
