Victor admitted approving the sale during a shipping strike when the company was days from collapse.
He believed Whitmore Capital would protect workers from foreclosure.
Instead, the firm raised interest rates and seized homes.
“I made the decision because I thought saving the company would save everyone,” Victor said.
Samuel’s voice was cold.
“You saved the name on the building. We lost the houses beneath our names.”
Claire refused to let Ethan use the confession as an escape.
“My father will answer for his choice. So will you.”
Eleanor offered workers immediate settlements if they withdrew criminal complaints.
The offer required confidentiality and gave Whitmore Capital immunity.
Samuel tore it in half.
“Silence is not compensation.”
Then Madison revealed she had secretly recorded Victor negotiating with Ethan months earlier.
Victor’s voice said, “Marry Claire, and the worker trust stays quiet.”
Claire stepped away from him.
“You arranged my marriage?”
Victor answered, “I arranged a meeting. I never ordered love.”
