James revealed that Marcus Reed had entered witness protection after uncovering Lawson Global’s scheme.
Another homeless veteran, Samuel Price, had died in the corporate apartment carrying Marcus’s identification.
Marcus inserted the false pages because he believed Ethan would escape unless the evidence looked overwhelming.
Claire’s voice broke.
“You fought fabricated accusations by fabricating another one.”
Marcus did not ask forgiveness.
“I watched truthful complaints disappear for years. I stopped believing truth was enough.”
The council removed him from leadership but preserved the genuine records.
Ethan, Margaret and Hale were charged. Lila and Daniel testified without immunity. Claire ended the marriage and accepted review for delaying disclosure.
Lawson Global became a worker-and-veteran-controlled benefit corporation. Housing funds and erased medical records were restored.
The two suitcases were displayed beneath glass.
A plaque read:
“THEY PACKED HER MARRIAGE WITH LIES BECAUSE HER UNIFORM MADE THEIR FRAUD LOOK HONORABLE.”
