Chapter 4 - THE VETERAN THEY DRAGGED OUTSIDE.
Marcus Reed had returned from service with a construction license and a plan to supervise veteran housing renovations.
Lawson Global used his name in grant applications, then hired nonunion subcontractors and paid them below contract rates.
When Marcus challenged the invoices, the clinic labeled him aggressive and removed him from the program.
Claire placed his final voicemail before the board.
“They used our uniforms in brochures, Colonel. Then they locked us out of the buildings our names paid for.”
Ethan insisted he never approved Marcus’s removal.
A facilities worker named Rosa Alvarez stepped forward.
“You walked past him in this lobby while security dragged him outside.”
Ethan said he thought Marcus was threatening employees.
Rosa answered, “A wealthy executive raises his voice and becomes decisive. A homeless veteran raises his voice and becomes dangerous.”
Security footage confirmed Ethan had ordered the removal.
Then investigators found Marcus’s toolbox in a sealed corporate apartment.
