Daniel Mitchell arrived with federal counsel and admitted signing inspection reports for buildings he never entered.

He said Ethan promised to hire hundreds of veterans if the merger survived.

Claire’s disappointment was quiet.

“You used people like Marcus as justification for lying to the people he tried to protect.”

Daniel answered, “I thought one false report could save the program.”

Rosa placed photographs of cracked walls and failed heating systems on the table.

“Poor families are always asked to survive temporary danger while wealthy families enjoy permanent comfort.”

Daniel surrendered his license and agreed to testify without immunity.

The payments led to a shell company registered in Lila’s name.

“My manager asked me to sign incorporation papers for a student project,” she said.

Claire replied, “They chose you because an intern carries blame more cheaply than an executive.”

Lila opened her email archive. One message showed Ethan ordering her manager to use her identity.

Another contained a photograph of Claire entering a hotel with a Lawson director.

Ethan pointed at it.
