Claire’s memory returned in fragments: alarms, white steam, Thomas Bennett shouting from the floor and a man ordering her to press a green switch.

Evelyn’s voice shook.
“My father died four minutes after you touched it.”

Thomas Whitmore told reporters she had inherited control while concealing her role in the disaster.
Adrian stood beside her.
“She was a child used by adults who owned every exit.”
Evelyn answered, “That explains it. It does not return my father.”
Claire suspended her authority and placed the vote under an independent worker council.
Arthur revealed that a security tape once existed, but Thomas Bennett removed it before investigators arrived.
Margaret said Helen Bennett kept a copy.
