Chapter 49 - THE SURVIVOR WHO HID THE ARCHITECT.

Leonard was found inside a private mountain clinic owned through Caleb’s network.

He was not a prisoner.

He had directed the buyouts, Newark foreclosure and blackout.

Caleb admitted hiding him.

“Leonard knew where every body was buried.”

Evelyn answered, “So you gave the man who killed our families another office.”

Leonard showed no remorse.

“Plant Three preserved thirty thousand jobs.”

Claire stepped closer.

“Twelve workers were not accounting entries.”

He smiled.

“Your father understood that. He planned the shutdown because he needed leverage. I merely made it profitable.”

Thomas Bennett’s last note confirmed he discovered Leonard’s label switch before the explosion but continued because he believed the emergency system would contain the failure.

Claire read the sentence twice.

Her father had not intended deaths, but he had gambled with workers who never consented.

The families refused to let motive become absolution.

Leonard, Caleb and Thomas Whitmore were indicted.
