Claire placed her hand beside Adrian’s.

The factories remained online.
At the same moment, the system transferred every Plant Three liability into the Claire Bennett Foundation.
Thomas smiled.
“You just inherited twelve wrongful-death claims and nineteen years of environmental penalties.”
Claire did not withdraw her hand.
“Then open every account and let the families see what was hidden.”
The files revealed that settlement money intended for victims had funded Adrian’s education, Margaret’s family company and Caleb’s care facilities.
Caleb had discovered the transfers years earlier. Instead of exposing them, he began buying distressed worker claims for pennies, promising faster payments.
Rosa confronted him.
“You survived their cage, then charged other families for the key.”
Caleb shouted, “I was building enough power to defeat them.”
Evelyn answered, “You built power by purchasing grief from people who could not wait.”
Then auditors found the largest block of purchased claims.
They belonged to Helen Bennett.
