Marcus admitted owning a small redevelopment company but denied planning the closure.
His investors proposed converting abandoned industrial land into worker housing. He had not known the deal depended on Carolina Heritage failing.

Caleb had funded advocates and emergency lawyers while positioning himself to buy each plant after panic lowered its value.

Ana replied, “You cannot build justice on a price created by our fear.”
Marcus surrendered the purchase option and opened his accounts.

Caleb called it rescue capitalism.
Evelyn answered, “You are still a landlord. You only learned better slogans.”
